ANNA ALIMANI

ИнInterview with Simon Ershov and Miss USA Anna Alimani for Onion Magazine, held at the Palace of Versailles on October 4, 2025

Anna Alimani, miss USA
Anna, your beauty is monumental. But behind it lie intellect, extraordinary strength, and boundless energy. Tell us about your life philosophy — what motivates you to new victories?

I would say that what motivates me to achieve my victories is the fact that we live on a timeline. I am inspired by the philosophy that none of us is eternal — we must defy the timeline. Whether fortunately or unfortunately, we are all given only a limited amount of time, and that constant reminder pushes us forward. We are not here forever. There is nothing impossible, and you must do what you truly desire.

Opportunities do not come twice in the same form. So my philosophy is: do what you want. Of course, there are legal and ethical boundaries, and for crossing those you will be judged. But since we are not here for a hundred years, it is essential to live fully and do what truly matters to you.

Anna, is there a special memory you would like to relive again and again? A moment you wish you could hold on to forever?

That is a very good question. I would say the memory I would relive again and again is the moment I realized that nothing mattered except myself and God. That realization gave me absolute freedom and absolute power to do anything, anywhere, before anyone. There is nothing greater than myself or God — nothing more important. This memory is tied to the day one of my greatest dreams came true, something I thought I would never have. I know how freedom tastes, how precious it is to gain it. That was a moment of ultimate freedom, and I will never forget it or let it go.
Anna, did you enjoy acting in The Unholy Song? You were magnificent! Were you satisfied?

I would say both “yes” and “no”. I had contributions as both an actress and as a producer. As an associate producer, financial sponsor, and actress, I feel I should have been given more lines. I was born in San Francisco, my hometown, and I would have appreciated a few more lines and additional screen time in the film. I wasn’t thrilled with how the filming was organized, but it was exciting to work on a movie shot in my native California. It was my first big cinematic moment. It was thrilling. I’m a self-proclaimed vulgar perfectionist — and the film, in that sense, became my pile to refine.

Anna, do you believe in the “architecture” of love? What qualities or skills are lacking in modern men? What modern men lack most is intuition. When a woman tells you what she likes, why not fulfill that need? Why not step forward and solve the problem?

Don’t hesitate — just be Superman. Handle it! A man should stop overthinking his actions. As for love, I don’t believe it has an architecture. It either happens or it doesn’t. I don’t believe it can be planned in advance. For me, love is black or white — either it exists or it doesn’t. I do believe in love at first sight, but loving someone is also a process of learning. Love is something that either is, or it is not.

Anna, you are not only a model and businesswoman, but also a style icon and Miss USA! Are perfect people born or made?

Born. One hundred percent born. Perfect people are absolutely born that way. You can try to shape someone into an executioner or a killer, but a wolf is born a wolf, and a sheep is born a sheep. You cannot turn a sheep into a wolf. In the end, you must be born a wolf. If you try to act as though you were born one when you were not, you are destined for failure.

Anna, do you have dreams? What is your main goal in life? And what should people feel when they hear your name?

Of course, I have dreams. But I don’t like just dreaming — I like achieving. Many people dream, but they lack the courage to make their dreams real.

Anna, what does fashion mean to you? Do you have any taboos in fashion — something you would never wear on the runway?

I would never wear anything that makes me look foolish, weak, or unintelligent. I like pieces that are slightly provocative, iconic, and conceptually stimulating. Destructive fashion can be art, but I would never wear something that contradicts my personality or makes me look like a clown. I am a sensual yet stylish person. I will never apologize if you and your energy don’t demand it. And I will never lower myself by wearing anything that diminishes me.

Anna, share with us your favorite word and your favorite color.
My favorite word is exclusivity. My favorite color is red.

Anna, tell us about your biography.

You are an icon, and we want your story to inspire our readers.
A little about me: I have always been that girl from a small town with very real, very big dreams. I was born in San Francisco and raised in Washington State. I dreamed of becoming famous, of becoming a fashion icon. My parents were traditional, old-fashioned people who wanted me to marry in my early twenties. But I always felt that life wasn’t meant for me, that I didn’t belong in that mold. There is nothing worse than the pain of realizing you’re living in a place where you cannot reach your full potential.

So I left for California, and eventually found myself in New York! New York fits me like a glove. It is a conglomerate of the smartest, sharpest, and most influential people in the world. When I arrived in Manhattan, I learned that you can become whoever you want — as long as you have the means and the power, which ultimately give you freedom. Money can buy almost anything, but it cannot buy time. I was a little girl with big dreams who stepped into a big world. I must live by my dream — and I love achieving it.

Anna, what made you Anna Alimani?

That’s a good question — perhaps my favorite one. My birth name is Anna Michaela Terbacheva, but I realized that for many people it was difficult to pronounce. That’s why we have names like Gaga or Beyoncé — iconic, smooth, easy to remember. I wanted something equally striking. Alimani has German origins and means “strength”.
As Alimani, I begin with the essence of where everything is heading.

I am the product of many successes and many failures. Everything I ever wanted, I had to learn how to achieve — and how to analyze the path toward it. I always analyze the target before I move toward it: what do I already have, what is missing, what is the structure? It’s like engineering — all the parts must work together in time.

To be a good businesswoman, you must also be highly creative. Business is about real solutions. I’ve always had a creative mind, and I’m constantly thinking about how to reach my goals. If something is in order, I break the goal into 20 or 30 parts and work step by step.
